There were many interested this year in becoming attendants of The School of Friendship, so a total of 50 attendants were enrolled that will be divided into 2 groups, 25 in each. One group will have its workshops on Mondays and Wednesdays and the other on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesday, 23 November, the 1st workshop of The School of Friendship was held, attended by 43 participants. The kids had the opportunity to do their homework, draw, play, sing songs, etc. This workshop was attended by both groups so that all the participants would get to know each other better. The atmosphere was excellent and in the end of the workshop, comments such as: “May we stay a bit longer, pleeeaseee…” could be heard. The schedule of the workshops are adapted to school schedules, so, when the school is held in the morning, the workshops will be held from 2 to 4:30 PM and when it is held in the afternoon, the workshops will last from 9 to 11.30 AM.

The 4-day training for volunteers who will be working with children through The School of Friendship programme was completed on 21 November 2010 at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA. The training referred to acquiring and perfecting methods for an adequate approach to 3rd and 4th grade elementary school children. A graduate Pedagogist Elena Velagi? and Sister Magdalena Schildknecht, a graduate Psychologist and Pedagogist and President of the Narco -No Association, held the training for our volunteers. Around 30 volunteers applied to volunteer in The School of Friendship programme.

Today's workshop of The School of Friendship started with a conversation of the attendants about their mood, considering that it was pretty cold outside and that it was raining. The attendants expressed their emotions through artworks that we commented on together.

After this, we focused on the topic "My IlidĹľa" in which the attendants discussed their nearest surroundings, how they imagined and experienced it. Beautiful and colourful drawings were also made.

Our dear elementary school students, this year as well, the Association KULT will, just for you, continue with The School of Friendship. Just as a reminder, it is a programme of free-of charge aid to 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students in completing their homework, and various creative workshops and playrooms. 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students from IlidĹľa Municipality spend time together every Tuesday and Thursday at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA.

This type of assistance, but also of learning through play, significantly helps the socialisation process of students. The students recognise their potentials better and participate in workshops that strengthen their communication which is, sadly, not very developed with both the adults and the students at this age. From this year, every first Saturday of the month will be reserved for the UMiD junior (additional educational workshops). Also, every month, certain walks, field trips and visits to the theatre, cinemas, the ZOO, etc. will be organised.

This year’s activities begin with the first workshop that will be held on Tuesday, 9 November. All interested parents and students are invited to visit our Centre, located at Banjska 2. in Ilidža, to fill in the application for participating in the projects and provide a quality leisure time for their children.

The children will be supervised by the educated and experienced KULT volunteers that participated in some of our educational programmes. Currently our volunteers are attending an additional training for working with children that we organised. The training is conducted by the graduated Pedagogist Alena Velagi? and Sister Magdalena Schildknecht, graduated Psychologist and Pedagogist and President of the Narco-No Association.

Come visit us, we’ll be expecting you!

On this hot June afternoon we "hid" in the dark and cool corner of SPAJALICA. In today's workshop, the attendants of The School of Friendship were given a task to describe their best friend and say something on the notion of friendship, or, on their interpretation of the term.
