After an exciting summer of testing the  ROUTE WB6 MINI scheme with 100 young volunteers from the Western Balkans who volunteered at various festivals, cultural and sporting events in the region, we are pleased to announce an even more exciting fall, which is reserved for the ROUTE WB6 MAXI scheme.

This fall, young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina have the opportunity to apply for volunteering through the  ROUTE WB6 MAXI and spend up to 2 months in one of the partner organizations from Albania, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia or Serbia. Partner organizations from the region hosting volunteers through the ROUTE WB6 MAXI schemes have extensive experience in working with volunteers and volunteer programs and are able to offer young volunteers opportunities for learning, personal growth and skills development, by engaging them in activities focused on the common good.

Activities that will involve volunteers are planned and organized in a way that allows volunteers to interact with the local community and experience intercultural learning.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT is inviting young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina aged 18 to 30, who want to use their free time in a creative and fun way while supporting socially beneficial initiatives and organizations throughout the region to apply by clicking HERE.

Apply to be part of a regional cross-border volunteering program - ROUTE WB6  and join over 100 young people who already volunteered throughout the Western Balkans in just a few months. You can learn more about their experience by clicking HERE.

All expenses for selected volunteers (accommodation, food, travel expenses, insurance, Covid-19 testing) will be covered by ROUTE WB6.

ROUTE WB6 is the first regional exchange program to involve youth in the design process from the very beginning. It is intended specifically for young people and offers the following three options: ROUTE MINI, ROUTE MIDI and ROUTE MAXI.

ROUTE MINI offers youth the opportunity to volunteer at regional festivals and sporting events, for up to seven days. In ROUTE MIDI, volunteers will participate in community volunteer activities for up to two weeks, e.g. volunteer camps. ROUTE MAXI is an opportunity for young people to spend up to two months volunteering in some of the most prominent civil society organizations in the region.

The Regional Cross-Border Volunteer Program was created within the ROUTE WB6 project led by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office RYCO in cooperation with partner organizations from the Western Balkans, including the Institute for Youth Development KULT. The project is implemented with the support of Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
