The Institute for Youth Development KULT is implementing training courses and certification for Youth Officers engaged in youth work in city, municipal and cantonal authorities.
Youth Officers are required to continually work on professional training and development. An officer who is not in possession of a certificate, but is employed in civil service and performs the duties of a Youth Officer is required to pass the Youth Officer training course and obtain a certificate within two years.
Having regard to Article 25 of the Regulations of the procedure for training course implementation and certification of Youth Officers, in accordance with Article 12 of the Law on Youth of FBiH, the Institute for Youth Development KULT is working on the recognition of certificates issued to Youth Officers by the German Society for International Collaboration (GIZ) or the Italian NGO Consortium, upon receiving a request for issuing a new certificate.
''Youth officer'' means a civil servant who has a professional qualification for youth work which certifies knowledge of youth policy and youth work (Youth Law of FBiH).
The Institute for Youth Development KULT, in agreement with the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, issues a public call for training and certification of Youth Officers.
The second module of the Basic training for Youth Officers was held on July 20-24, on the mountain Jahorina. Sixteen participants, Youth Officers from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, improved their knowledge on public advocacy and lobbying, project cycle management and youth work. In addition to learning the necessary theory, the participants took part in simulated meetings with mayors, to get first-hand experience with lobbying. They also analyzed previous public calls for funding youth projects issues by different local communities in BiH.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT is issuing a Public call for taking part in the Basic training for Youth Officers, which will be open until April 27, 2020.

The Youth Officer Training is attended by 16 Youth Officers from across Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the first module, the participants learned about teamwork, leadership, youth policies and youth work. The first module included two study visits, one to the Educational-Leisure Center for Youth SPAJALICA and one to the Museum of Optical Illusions in Sarajevo.
