Students from the BiH Brainobrain Academy took part in the biggest international competition for children. Children aged 4-14 from 42 countries, including BiH, participated in this competition.  Several thousand little boys and girls from around the world showed their impressive arithmetic skills and ability to focus.

This was the 6th Brainobrain competition, and the first to be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 33 boys and girls from BiH entered the competition, and 18 successfully completed the demanding tasks they were given. 7-year-old Lejla Omerović is the BiH champion, two participants won gold medals, 13 won silver and 2 received certificates of participation. Lejla’s dad says they immediately decided to enter Lejla in the international competition since she’s already an experienced local competitor. They entered Lejla’s younger sister in the competition too as an encouragement, and she won the gold medal.

“We believed that Lejla would do well, she’s really a very smart and hard-working child, and it’s in her nature to strive to be the best at what she does, which is what she did here too. But to be honest, this result was a little bit of a surprise for us too, being one of the best competitors in the world in no small feat. Of course, we’re proud and so happy for Lejla, and her younger sister who won the gold medal in her category. Needless to say, they’re overjoyed”, said Sanjin Omerović, father of this year’s BiH Brainobrain champion.

Sanjin says that Lejla started attending Brainobrain classes when she was just 4. They were not sure if they should enroll her back then, but now they say it was the right choice. “This isn’t just about the Brainobrain activities that have to do with math, it’s about a child’s development in general, how they think and how their confidence improved, and it’s all thanks to the Academy”, says Sanjin.

The Brainobrain Academy program is educational and entertaining and designed for children between the ages of 4 and 14. The program consists of 10 to 12 levels, depending on the child’s age, and each level takes 3-4 months to complete. Classes are held once a week for 120 minutes, in groups of up to 15 children. Children practice mental arithmetic and NLP at home for 15 minutes every day, and the entire program is designed to encourage and support the development of different skills.  Learn more about the Brainobrain Academy at www.brainobrain.ba and www.djeca.eu.

02On Friday, September 11, 2020, the Brainobrain Kids Academy organized a formal certificate awarding ceremony for the first generation of this educational program for children and youth. This generation started in 2016, and we are proud to say that they are the first generation in Bosnia and Herzegovina to successfully complete all 10 levels of the Brainobrain Academy.

Hard work, persistence, and dedication will help guide these kids through life. The skills and knowledge they received through training (improved calculating ability and speed, photographic memory, visualisation, logical thinking, public speaking skills, etc.) will definitely be very helpful for overcoming all the challenges ahead.

We shared memories and anecdotes and enjoyed the program prepared for the kids and parents by Brainobrain trainers at the Educational-Leisure Center for Youth SPAJALICA where Brainobrain classrooms are located. It was very emotional and encouraging seeing how close the kids and parents have become, and we all felt a bit sad that the program had come to an end. We’ll definitely stay in touch and we hope that the skills these kids learned will serve them well, and encourage others to join our Brainobrain family.

Brainobrain Kids’ Academy offers an educational creative program for children between 4 and 14 and is available in three municipalities: Ilidža, Novi Grad and Novo Sarajevo. The Institute for Youth Development KULT has owned this franchise since 2016. For more information about this fantastic program designed to develop the intellectual capacities of children visit our website www.djeca.eu. It’s never too late to join because we welcome applications throughout the year.
