The “Recollecting the Future” seminar is currently being held in Petrovac in Montenegro. The organizer of the seminar is the NGO Memos from Berlin, and 7 organizations from different countries are participating.

The aim is to present the dissolution of Yugoslavia form various transnational perspectives and how the occurrences affected children and youth from all over the region, since they were precisely the ones who were raised in the historical narratives causing frustration and apathy.

The idea of the first seminar was to work on strengthening the established group of organizations and to present their manners of working, and in the following months, 3 multinational online working groups will work on preparing the second gathering.

Organizing the “Recollecting the Future” seminar is only the initial step, and the whole project will last for 8 months, aiming to inspire the active participation of youth in preserving heritage and learning about history.

The key partner in realizing this project is the Institute for Youth Development KULT and the project was supported by a German foundation with the “Europeans for Peace” program.  

The organizations taking part in the project are also the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, NGO “Duga” from Serbia, the Croatian Film Association, Mladiinfo from Montenegro and the Association of Volunteers from Macedonia.
